COORS LIGHT 200 presented by NAPA & Albertson's
EVERGREEN SPEEDWAY
Monroe, Wash. - June 29, 2002
#00 Oliver Gravity Separator/Denver Seminary

This past weekend, on June 29, we raced the Coors Light 200 at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe, Washington. It was a nice break in the weather for us, as the temperature was in the 60's and it was raining when we arrived on Friday night. It cleared off on Saturday for the race, but was still real cool. We fought a disadvantage all day, as we took a road course car with high frame rails to this 5/8 mile oval. The car was pushing throughout practice and we couldn't get Scott real comfortable in it. He qualified 10th for the late night race. During the race, he ran all night from 4th to 9th. He had worked his way up to 2nd for a while and we had 4 pit stops during the first half of the race. We took a chance that we could go to the end on gas and tires and went 100 laps from our last pit stop until the end of the race. Unfortunately, there was a caution about 15 laps from he end with Scott running 5th. The cars behind us pitted for tires and fuel and we elected to stay out for track position, as no one in front of us pitted. We went green with 11 laps to go. Two cars behind us with fresh tires got around us, but the leader ran out of gas on the last lap and we got around him. We ended up 6th.

We are currently 10th in the points race heading to Irwindale Speedway in Los Angeles later this month, but we are only 1 point out of 9th and 17 points out of 8th.

Until next time..........................
